As guests stepped into the Time Chamber Experience they were faced with a striking view of the Royal Salute Time Chamber by Conrad Shawcross, dramatically lit from above and displayed in the centre of an elliptical table inscribed with lines alluding to ancient star charts. Placed around the perimeter of the room were towering geometric sculptures from Shawcross’ wider body of work, each casting mesmerising shadows as the mechanical light installation piece –The Limit of Everything – slowly rotated overhead.

While watching the enchanting shadows and reflections dance across the table and walls, giving a sense of the acceleration and deceleration of time, an otherworldly soundscape composed by Sonia Manalili echoed throughout the room. Inspired by gravitational waves and mergers between black holes, the bespoke music score added an even deeper layer of contemplation to the experience.
